Lanista Partners Ltd were looking for an illustrator for The Magistrate’s Son by Mike Thexton.  Searching the web throws up thousands of brilliant illustrators – so we decided to hold a competition to help us choose.

AND HERE ARE THE RESULTS...

We had a panel of judges of different ages, some of them involved in the writing of it over many years.  There was a very close race for the top two prizes, but the final decision was clear:

First prize: Chay Hawes/Chayground

Second prize: Johanna Gousset

Third prize: Jacob Turner

We wanted to see what's out there - different styles, different approaches - and we have certainly achieved that.  There's a brilliant variety in the Gallery, and it was hard to choose a winner.  It was hard too to reject some very professional and interesting proposals for the book project, but a choice had to be made.

The Magistrate's Son will be illustrated by JOHANNA GOUSSET.  Now the hard work begins!

Thanks to all the entrants and pitchers for taking part, and thanks to anyone else for taking an interest!
